Q and A

Q and A for Visitors

What are your beliefs?
St. Mark's is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). When Lutherans talk about faith, we are talking about the relationship God's Holy Spirit creates with us. It is a relationship where God's promise of steadfast love and mercy in Jesus opens us to a life of bold trust in God and joyful, generous service to everyone we know and meet in daily life.

What are your services like?
St. Mark's worship is liturgical, making use of both traditional and alternative settings and styles. We primarily use Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW). Worship follows the Lutheran liturgy including confession and forgiveness, scripture, creed, prayers, congregational hymns, sermon, and a children's message. Communion is served at each worship service.

Where are you located?
St. Mark's is located at 2001 South Elmwood Avenue in Sioux Falls.

What are your service times?
We meet on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m.

Where do I park?
St. Mark's has an ample parking lot as well as additional street parking.

Is your building accessible?
The entrance to St. Mark's does not involve stairs. Services and meetings take place on the main floor. There is an elevator to the lower level if needed.

What is the typical attire?
Come as you like!

Is childcare available?
Nursery facilities are available for children up to five years of age. The nursery is not staffed and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
